Thinking of getting married or eloping in Jamaica? ..then read on ..this might be the blog that makes you go for it!
The Magical, Adventurous Elopement of Becky and Mark is always going to be so special to us. This was our first destination wedding together for Ben and I and that , with this incredibly special couple, the fact we spent so much time just the four of us and this magical place all combined made this an adventure of a lifetime and something we will forever hold close to our hearts. We had only just started filming at this point and even though we look at the film now and wish we had our better filming cameras we have now and better filming skills we still look back at this film trailer and its still our favourite, it just has a magic and we will always be proud of it and have a special love for it.
Becky + mark got in touch with us and we just knew we had to make this possible, they were two young people crazy in love and were eloping on their own to this beautiful place.
Their whole love story captivated us and we just knew it was going to be something special.
STYLING
Becky is a total creative and made and brought along her canopy where they got married in front of, she saved money by buying her wedding dress from ASOS Bridal which was so unique and boho /vintage inspired. She then bought a second gold dress from missguided for the post wedding shoot and worry a white beach dress she already owned for the in the water shots.
Marks super cool outfit was also from ASOS and they looked so freakin cool which just goes to show you do not need to spend thousands on a dress etc to look unique and stunning.
Becky did her own makeup and hair along with a little help from myself :)
On the day of the wedding , they spent the morning together , having breakfast, going for a swim, we arrived to their room and it was so calm , relaxed and we were all just so excited!
Mark left to get ready separately whilst we stayed and helped becky do her hair and to get some bridal prep shots. The hotel is huge so we had to get a bug down to the jetty which leads upto the ocean where Becky + Mark where having their ceremony.
Mark was waiting looking slightly emotional at this point, as becky walked down the jetty to meet him I was nearly crying my eyes out, it was such a gorgeous moment.
They said their I dos with the sound of the ocean it was beautiful. Ben and I even got to be their witnesses which we feel is so special!
We all then went straight to do couple shots before the sun went down and we left becky + mark to have their candlelit dinner on the beach why we ate , and sat on the beach and reminisced about the day thinking and feeling how lucky we were.
We then chose another day for Becky + Mark to say their own vows to each other on a cliff over looking the ocean, it was just beautiful - this is where Becky switched dresses to the gold beaded dress. She looked incredible.
POST WEDDING SHOOT ADVENTURES
When we do destination weddings we do them a bit differently to most photographers / videographers, we are natural wanderlusts by nature , we love to explore where ever we are and fully emerse ourselves in the culture wherever we are, so we ask all our bride and grooms to come along on our trips we recommend and we shoot them experiencing this adventure with us , so the photographs and film we create are more like a mini film / gallery of their adventure not just their wedding day.
Becky + mark are real adventurers like us so were up for all our ideas, we went to the Pelican bar which is the most incredible place, it is a bar in the middle of the ocean which you need to take a boat ride to get to , its like a shack with the Owner who is the coolest happiest guy we have ever met , he dances with everyone else to reggae music whilst you can order drinks from the bar whilst you look out at the incredible views, It was honestly like something of a film , If you go to Negril you cannot miss out on this! on this same evening we jumped out the car and did an impromptu shoot in the ocean as the sun was setting. which were some of my favourite images we have shot.
We went to YS falls which are just magical , zip lined there, sailed on the black river , held baby crocodiles, went to a marajuana plantation , of course sampled some which is very bloody strong so beware haha !
We then went cliff jumping which was so much fun at Ricks cafe. We hired a driver called Bryan Dennison from https://www.facebook.com/EasyBreezyTours/ who was not only a driver but a tour guide , he was absolutely amazing, such a a great person , who looked after us , stayed with us on all of our trips , he knew everyone in Negril we felt so safe with him and he knew so much history and all the little cool places that we wouldn’t have known about without him , if you are going to Negril you must book Bryan , he has become good friends with us all and we cant wait to go back and see him again.
We had some unforgettable experiences with Becky and Mark , we will never be able to thank them enough for choosing us to be part of their incredible adventure, they are some of the loveliest people we have ever met and im sure we will stay friends for life :)
NEGRIL
We have been so many destinations but Negril has to be one of the most magical places, it really does have a magic to it, not just because of its stunning beaches and you really do feel like your in paradise, it almost feels like another world, but there is so much culture, so much character, the people are warm and welcoming and haves to many stories to tell, they are so proud of their history and legacy. There is so much cooler around and we loved how simply the locals live, they make use out of everything that naturally grows there, you cant help but eat healthy there as there is so much mouth watering fresh food available. Bryan our tour guide took us to his friend selling jerk chicken on the street when we arrived at out hotel which was honestly one of the best meals we have ever had!
We stayed in White Sands hotel which was just perfect, it felt rustic and authentic and the staff were honestly so lovely, if you stay here ask for a room near the ocean side , ours was gorgeous , we sat on or balcony in the evenings and it felt like we were in the jungle in a treehouse. it was amazing.
If your thinking of going to Negril to get married or just as a holiday and need some tips or advice feel free to get in touch and we can tell you all we know :)
We cannot wait to go back to this incredible place.

if you would like to see some of our adventures we filmed some of them on our blogs which you can find on our youtube channel
This INCREDIBLE couple shoot in the welsh mountains was what all my dreams are made of!
Toni and Lewis are just beautiful human beings, not only that but have such awesome style , this teamed with an incredible energy and connection ...and magic happens!
And can we please just take a minute to appreciate the hair !! Hair goals! Lewis has this really strong look but has a real gentleness to him in person and Toni has this infectious energy you can't help but smile around and not only that but is hilariously funny , literally the best looking. couple I've ever met but not only that , they are lovely, lovely people with really good and adventurous hearts!
Toni's Dad Mike ( who is awesome by the way) is an experienced mountaineer guided us to the best place to catch the sun going down, the wind and cold was fierce but I've said it many times before I love shooting in wild , crazy weather conditions, I guess because everything feels more atmospheric, couples hold each other tighter and if you have that kind of wild hearted couple the wild weather really amplifies their connection, their love. I can't write this blog without saying what a truly beautiful place TREDEGAR is ...wow ..every where you look there is so much beauty!
After braving the fierce weather we went to warm up at a local pub, then headed off on our 3 hour journey home, we plan on having a proper drinking session next time :) Toni and Lewis thank you for being so awesome!!
My lovely Ben also filmed a short film of this incredible adventure shoot it made me cry when i watched it all together after we edited it I hope you love it too :) please watch below...
If i haven't already said this before I love boho style!! everything about it excites me , the wildness of hair, the undone flowers and the the way everything just seems to flow so freely, so beautifully and effortlessly ...im praying for more boho brides! :)
I try to encourage brides and grooms to plan a wedding that feels 100 percent them, to not listen to anything the wedding industry ( or your family and friends ) tell you to do. Other than a few legal steps you should plan your wedding in whatever way YOU want and make sure it represents YOU! Im all for throwing traditions to the wind and planning a unique wedding!
If you like what you see and would love to see your own love story told in my photographs then please do GET IN TOUCH and we can set up an adventure!
With lOVE ,
