So for a while now, for over a year i have been playing around with filming. Film was my first love, i studied film when i was at college and i somehow fell into this world of photography by accident as life often does.

There is just something so captivating about film, movement, energy. There is something about film that does and always has excited me ( like a kid at christmas excitement). So for this whole year ive studied the film makers in this industry all over the world that inspire me, that move me when i watch what they have created. From them i took inspiration, i already had so many visions of what i wanted my stortelling to look like and feel like and so ive been working behind the scenes for a while to make this vision , this dream a reality. I began filming snippets of the day of my clients weddings which im so excited to share some of these with you, then recently filming my couples Love sessions which i just have had the BEST time doing.

Every night im going to bed with my mind and heart racing with new ideas, new visuals and i literally feel so so excited, so inspired and i feel in full bloom, so full of heart and life and all that good stuff! :) Whats more exciting is that im working with my incredibly talented boyfriend Ben, not only is he a music producer, song writer and musician by day but he is now my second shooter/ film maker and editor, and i just cant wait to see where this adventure takes us together! if you would like to follow Ben you can find him on :

KATIE + LIAM'S RELAXED WINTER WHITE WEDDING AT MANSION HOUSE, ST.HELENS

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ROY.....

THIS BLOG IS VERY BITTER SWEET TO WRITE, AS KATIE AND LIAMS WEDDING WAS BEAUTIFUL, IT WAS RELAXED, INTIMATE AND FUN, HOWEVER SADLY ONLY A FEW DAYS AGO, KATIES DAD ROY SADLY PASSED AWAY. IT IS SUCH HEARTBREAKING NEWS, I CANT EVEN IMAGINE THE SADNESS A PERSON FEELS WHEN LOSING SOMEONE SO CLOSE TO YOU.

TO SHARE KATIE AND LIAMS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS WITH THEM OBVIOUSLY BRINGS BACK SUCH LOVELY MEMORIES OF WHAT WILL HAVE  BEEN ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF THEIR LIVES, BUT I ALSO KNOW THIS WILL BE SO EMOTIONAL LOOKING BACK AT PHOTOGRAPHS OF KATIES DAD ON HER SPECIAL DAY I DO HOPE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS WILL ALWAYS  BRING COMFORT AND JOY, AND I AM JUST SO GLAD I COULD CAPTURE THESE SPECIAL MEMORIES.

THERE IS A PHOTOGRAPH OF KATIE AND HER DAD RIGHT BEFORE THEY ARE ABOUT TO WALK INTO THE ROOM TO GET MARRIED TO HER LOVE LIAM , KATIE WAS FEELING EXCITED  AND A LITTLE NERVOUS AS ALL BRIDES FEEL AT THAT MOMENT, I REMEMBER SHE TOOK A BREATH AND LOOKED AT HER DAD, ROY HAD SUCH LOVELY KIND EYES , HE LOOKED AT HER AS IF TO SAY 'ITS OK' , THAT KIND OF COMFORTING REASSURANCE ONLY A PARENT CAN GIVE, HE LOOKED SO SO PROUD AND WHEN I SEE IT IT JUST MOVES ME AND MAKES ME TEAR UP WITH EMOTION EVERY TIME AND I THINK IT ALWAYS WILL.

 IT IS SUCH TIMES AS THESE I REMEMBER WHY PHOTOGRAPHY IS SO IMPORTANT, WHY IT IS ONE OF THE MOST PRECIOUS THINGS WE CAN HAVE IN LIFE, AS PHOTOGRAPHERS WE STOP TIME, MOMENTS LIKE THIS WITH KATIE AND HER DAD, PROOF THAT YOU LOVED , THAT YOU WAS LOVED AND THAT YOU LIVED, LONG AFTER IM GONE, THIS WILL STILL BE THERE, JUST A MOMENT IN TIME, JUST A FRAGMENT OF A SECOND , BUT ONE THAT MEANS EVERYTHING , IT IS JUST IRREPLACABLE. 

AND AS I SAT HERE GOING THROUGH ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS ONE LAST TIME, WITH TEARS IN MY EYES, GOOSEBUMPS ON MY SKIN, I REMEMBERED ...THATS WHY I DO THIS JOB....THATS WHY IM TOTALLY AND UTTERLY INLOVE WITH THIS JOB...THATS WHY I HAVE HARDLY ANY SOCIAL LIFE AND SPEND ALL MY LIFE DECLINING OFFERS FROM FRIENDS TO GO OUT, SAYING NO TO LOTS OF HOLIDAYS OVER SUMMER ...WHY I SPEND MOST DAYS FEELING LIKE A ZOMBIE AFTER STAYING UP ALL NIGHT EDITING TILL 6 AM ... JUST THAT ONE PHOTOGRAPH REMINDED ME ..THATS WHY! ....IT WILL ALWAYS FEEL THE MOST WONDERFUL FEELING TO BE ABLE TO GIVE SOMEONE THE GIFT OF A SPECIAL MOMENT STOPPED IN TIME.

THE DAY ITSELF WAS BEAUTIFUL.

I KNEW KATIE AS 4 YEARS PREVIOUSLY I HAD PHOTOGRAPHED HER LOVELY SISTER EMMA'S WEDDING. KATIES FAMILY ARE SUCH LOVELY, WELCOMING AND FUN PEOPLE.

I KNEW KATIE AND LIAMS WEDDING WAS GOING TO BE BEAUTIFUL AND IT WAS, IT WAS A VERY CRISP WINTERS DAY, THE SUN WAS OUT AND I DO LOVE THOSE KIND OF WINTER DAYS.

KATIE GOT READY AT HER MUM AND STEPDAD'S HOUSE WHICH WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL TO PHOTOGRAPH BRIDAL PREP SHOTS, AS IT WAS SO ELEGANT, WIHT LOTS OF NATURAL LIGHT. I LOVE BEAUTIFUL SHOES , AND I HAD A GORGEOUS PAIR OF SPARKLY JIMMY CHOOS TO PHOTOGRAPH SO I WAS VERY HAPPY!

KATIE IS JUST A NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL PERSON, HER SKIN IS JUST SO FLAWLESS, HER DRESS WAS SO PRETTY, I JUST LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT HER STYLE.

KATIE IS SUCH A FUN CHARACTER AND OF COURSE THERE HAD TO BE SHOTS OF SAMBUCA BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE WHICH I WAS URGED TO JOIN IN, HOW COULD I SAY NO?? I CAN NEVER SAY NO TO A SAMBUCA :)

I MET LIAM AT THE VENUE , HE WAS SO SO NERVOUS GOD BLESS HIM! 

THE VENUE MANSION HOUSE IN ST.HELENS IS A GORGEOUS VENUE FOR A WEDDING, IT IS SITUATED IN A PARK, HAS LOVELY GARDENS AND THE HOUSE IT SELF OS VERY ELEGANT, THE ROOM IN WHICH KATIE AND LIAM GOT MARRIED IS FULLY MADE OF GLASS WHICH MEANS THE LIGHTING WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL.

KATIE AND LIAM HAVE A GORGEOUS LITTLE BOY AND THE REGISTRAR INCLUDED HIM ALOT IN THEIR VOWS WHICH I THOUGHT WAS REALLY SPECIAL.

AS IT WAS LATE WINTER TIME, THE SUN SET PRETTY QUICKLY BUT WE MANAGED TO GET ALL OUR GROUP SHOTS AND SOME REALLY LOVELY SHOTS OF KATIE AND LIAM, THEY WERE SO EASY TO PHOTOGRAPH, THEY HAVE A REALLY LOVLEY NATURAL CHEMISTRY, THEY LAUGH ALOT TOGETHER, I FEEL THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS AND I HEARD THEM BOTH SAY THEY WERE EACH OTHERS SOULMATE :) ....AHHHH HOW I LOVE LOVE!

IT WAS THEN ONTO BRILLIANT SPEECHES AND FOOD, PERFOMANCES BY X FACTORS FINALIST KEIRA WEATHERS WHO WAS AMAZING AND REALY GOT THE PARTY STARTED AND I LEFT THE PARTY IN FULL SWING WITH EVERYONE ON THE DANCEFLOOR :)

KATIE + LIAM IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE PLEASURE TO BE PART OF YOUR DAY AND TO BE ABLE TO TELL YOUR STORY WITH PHOTOGRAPHS, I KNOW YOUR GOING THROUGH SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME RIGHT NOW, I HOPE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS BRING YOU SOME HAPPINESS AND COMFORT TODAY , AND EVERYTIME YOU LOOK AT THEM MAY THEY BRING BACK HAPPY MEMORIES.

VICKI AND SAM'S PRETTY, DIY AND RUSTIC FEEL WEDDING AT CONSTELLATIONS, LIVERPOOL

Good Afternoon lovely people! :) i sit here in starbucks on a rainy Tuesday catching up on all of last years blogs , but i have a gorgeous wedding to show you today something pretty to cheer you up on this rainy day!

Vicki and Sam are a sweet young couple in love i had the delight of capturing.

I fell in love with everything about their wedding, the style, the venue their love for each other and particularly how everything seemed homemade ,  a DO IT YOURSELF  wedding. More and more people are doing this now, not only because sometimes it can really help keep some of your costs down but because everything is more appreciated because everyone has helped create something for your special day so it just kind of feels more ....special. The whole look of everything can look really pretty and rustic too!

From the moment i arrived to Vicki, all the bridesmaids were sat at the dining table making button holes and creating decorations for the day, Vicki doing her mums makeup , it all just felt so lovely that everyone was pitching in.

Sam is very creative and a joiner by trade ( Sam Larkin Joinery and Construction ) and even made their very own wooden Photo Booth , by far the best Photo Booth I've actually seen at any wedding it was so quirky! He also made wooden boards with words written on with lights! i loved it! There was so much effort that had been put in and it really showed! ( you can see below this blog all the contact details for their suppliers  )

The wedding ceremony was really sweet, it was held at their family church, the reverend was funny, friendly and kind. After the ceremony Vicki and Sam got some shots in a really cool nit age car and after confetti and group shots i met them at constellations in Liverpool where their reception was held.

This is the first time i had been to this venue and i have to say i LOVED it, it is totally my kind of venue, its quirky, it has personality, theres so much to photograph there, again everything has that rustic feel which tied in to vicki and same theme, The staff there were great too, really helpful and friendly and fun!. constellations has a gorgeous outdoor terrace which is buzzing with a really cool atmosphere, that part of the venue  it was open to the public but i liked that, it created a good atmosphere for anyone wanting to go outside for a it, this is where we got the really fun shots of vicki and sam playing table tennis! :)

Vicki and Sam were really up for exploring the surroundings with me, i love it when i have adventurous bride and grooms i think everyone who who follows me knows that :)

Nearby to constellations was an abandoned skateboarding park, we snook in through the metal gates and had a little impromptu shoot there, the pictures came out really lovely, Vicki and sam are amazing to photograph, they are very much inlove, really tactile with eacthother, that 'i can't stop looking at you' 'cant stop touching you' kind of love ! my favourite kind of love to photograph of course :)

The evening then followed with hilarious speeches and a brilliant first dance ending with Vicki throwing her bouquet :) I left everyone on the dancefloor having the time of their lives!

Thank you Vicki and Sam for letting me be part of your lives that day and capturing your story  it was such a wonderful wedding to be part of!
